Article in the Houston Chronicle today about 3D televisions, but a few sentences about the new "Cell" chip developed to record 8 things at once...

Bogus article. The Cell processor is just a CPU, albeit one with a lot of capabilities. On its own it has no ability to "record 8 programs at once", though I could imagine a Cell-based DVR that used custom media chips such as the Broadcom chips to implement such a thing.

8 tuners would be nice in one location but I am already at 10. I have a feeling by this time next year I will be up around 16 or so if I go with two 4 cable card + 4 clearqam Windows 7 DVR depending on what if anything Tivo announces at CES.

Couldn't they do like 50 tuners if they wanted, just build ONE unit that was basically 25 units in one :D be DAMN pricey!

I'm already recording more stuff than I can really watch. Half of it ends up on DVD and in the box, with a promise I'll watch it "one of these days".
I've yet to see the entire second season of HEROES, or seasons 4 and 5 of STARGATE ATLANTIS (tho' I've watched scattered episodes of the latter).
And now HALLMARK channel is apparently going to run all of I LOVE LUCY in 8 episode chunks M-F. It looks like it'll take only a month or so to run them all. Yes. I'm recording them all.
