Can Tivo Remote Learn From Apple Remote?

Hooking my new HD XL. Final step: Get the volume to work.

I have an Applie Hi Fi (basically a boom box that my audio goes through) and it came with a little white Apple remote.

Tried to have the Tivo glo remote learn from the Apple remote's volume.

Tivo remote flashed 4 times (meaning success). However, then trying to use it didn't work.

Anyone ever get a Tivo remote to learn from an Apple remote?

Yes, the Tivo remote can learn from an Apple remote.

I had the same problem you had, but I figured out how to solve it.

Try this: Instead of holding the remotes completely level with each other, hold the Apple remote slightly lower and point it up to the middle of the lens of the Tivo remote. The Apple remote does not spray the signal as well as other remotes so you have to ensure you hold it this way so the Tivo remote can read it well.
