How to speed up transfers to TivoDesktop?

I couldn't find anything when I searched the forums.....

What else can I do to speed up transfers from my TiVo HD to my PC? :confused: I have CAT6 cables running from my TiVo into my Gb router. But I don't have a Gb card in my PC. Would that help? :rolleyes:

Gigabit ethernet will do nothing to help transfer speeds. TTG transfers are fairly resource intensive and the Tivo hardware (CPU + limited memory) is the bottleneck. Under normal conditions you will be hard pressed to get transfers faster than 13 Mbps on original S3 units, a little slower than that on THD units.

Also, tune both tuners to channels you do NOT receive.
This disables the recording buffers and unloads the hardware which speeds things up a bit.
