I have returned the last 2 tivo HD units that I had received (Sept 10-Oct 1, 2009) due to quality control issues. The first unit was unable to connect with the cablecard. It is unfortunate that all the tech calls failed to properly notice that CON was 'no' and the problem was the Tivo could not connect to the inserted cablecard. So, after a week of have techs here with a dozen cards I returned that unit. The second unit was returned do to its ethernet cable jack not working, that is known as error n24.
What most annoys me is that I prepaid for the second unit to be shipped to me so I could get it quickly and in order to get another shipped out to me right away I would have to allow them to bill my card for another roughly $300... that make a total of about $900 and no working Tivo's here since they have been shipped back and I now have to wait almost 2 weeks for another try with Tivo's poor quality.
