I just moved and lost two power cords, one for my Plasma TV and the other for my TiVo. While I replaced the TV cord thanks to Staples I cannot find a replacement TiVo corde with the right connector. So... does anyone have an extra cord laying aorund I could maybe get ?
I dont have much money left after the move but I could mail a MO before hand to cover atleast the shipping charges which I wouldnt imagine would be more than a few bucks. So ya, does anyone have a spare cord lying around that I could maybe get ?
Please PM me, Ty.

You can get one at Radio Shack. Long ago I asked the same question, and I seem to remember that the response called it a "tea kettle power cord" or something like that.
Basically, I think if you bring in an image of the connector, they'll know what you need.

See thats the thing, I went to RadioShack and they had the right power cord with the lil figure eight on the end with the notches but it didnt have the flat side. They said without a specific model number or some crap they couldnt check into ordering one for me. Goin by the post below all they " RadioShack " had was a C7 unpolarised plug.

Thx, I'll check both of those out but it looks like I need the C7 polarised plug for my TiVo. To try and save soem money depending on the prices I find online and with RadioShack when I give them a call back tomorrow I would still like to see if anyone here has a spare plug they'd like ot let go cost of shipping and a few bucks extra.
Again it all depends on price... but ty both for the replies thus far.

I actually got one from my cable company... Didnt really say what it was for but figured since I went out shopping I'd stop in and ask them if I could ge ta spare cord. I remembered that the living room STB for the cable company uses the same polarized plug so problem solved ;-)
Ty for all the replies ;-)

Not really, I didnt say what the cord was for... I just asked if they had a spare one I could get and they gave it to me.
Edit: Now if they had one sitting on the counter and I walked in and took it wouth saying anything then yes, that would be stealing.
Is that stealing?
NO--The poster asked if he could get a "spare cord". The employee said yes. The cost to the cable company is probably under $1. Goodwill.
Is a customer entitled to a replacement power cord if the customer damaged the power cord? Probably not. The employee is extending a courtesy (goodwill) regardless.

A figure 8 connector will work just fine. You don't need the polarized connector.

I asked a TiVo CSR about a replacement power cord. I was told the cords are available on the "accessories" page of the TiVo Website for approximately $6 each (freight extra). This is of course if you can't find the proper cords elsewhere.

Not to mention it probably came from a converter box that had died or something, so it really was a spare.

While you can use an unpolarized cord, you shouldn't, unless you can be sure that the squared side on the TiVo inlet connect to the Neutral (wider) slot on the receptical.

Well, like I said I got lucky with the cable company bec their boxes use polaized plugs. Thats then the lightbulb in my head went "ding" and I was like sweeeet heh.

I don't think a non-polarized cord will fit at all. The jack on the TiVo box requires one squared ended plug. A rounded figure eight cord won't fit. Like a square peg in a round hole.

A square peg fits in a round hole if the round hole is large enough.
Yes it fits. You could also take off the corners of the square side of a polarised cord and use it in place of an unpolarised cord.

Kinda ironic, the last time I needed a cord was because you still have mine Andy. ;)
I ordered one straight from Tivo's website.

Def ironic... but glad to see we can "get along" now in a manner of speaking ;-p
Do you still need a power cord? PM me, I have quite a few of these cords available.

If you need one I have one. Let me know. I have several backup tivos and the power cord on some are not that important as they are unplugged.
