I've got a slimline 5 LNB dish with built in multiswitch. 4 lines come out of the dish and two go to the kid's tv room to a HR10-250 and two go to the living room to a HR20. I would like to add a second HR20 in the living room. I've bought a 2x4 passive multiswitch at Radioshack and hooked it up last night. I am able to get a few channels but also get the searching for satellite (771) message. I suspect is has something to do with the passive multiswitch which I'm not sure if it's cascadable. I've tried the B band converters on both sides of the switch and didn't seem to help. Not sure which side of the switch is recommended for the converters. I'm not looking to spend $200 on a multiswitch so was looking for a simple solution, pehaps a $75 multiswitch. The cable run from dish to receiver is roughly 60-70 feet so didn't know if a powered or unpowered multiswitch would work for this. Help would be greatly appreciated.

You can't do it that way - any multiswitch for those receivers has to see all four inputs from the dish, and you need a "wideband" multiswitch for the HR20.

One option is a SWM-8 module that takes the feeds from the dish and gives you two legacy feeds for the HR10 and two SWM feeds that the HR20 can use (one feed will serve both tuners.) Otherwise a WB68 multiswitch is in order.
