Restore from USB drive?

I'm trying to restore an image for a Series1 TiVo, but I only have 1 IDE channel which means hda and hdb ONLY. If my CD-Rom is hda and my drive is hdb, can I use a USB stick to restore from? What commands would I use to mount it?

You could try using the latest version of MFSLive - it supports USB. USB memory sticks or drives will show up as /dev/sda, /dev/sdb etc.
