I have a Tivo tcd24008A that I upgrade a few years ago. It had a couple of the 160gb Maxtor Quickview drives which I purchased from weaknees.com. Recently, we have been experiencing lock ups and stuttering of video. Everything I read seemed to point to a bad hard drive so I bought a Western Digital 1TB WD10EADS and a weaknees recommended ide-to-sata adapter. I used winmfs to copy the old drives to the new one. It started out working great but the same problem came back. Now, it will stutter to the point that it is always at the 30 minute mark. The temperature appears to be good and the fans are working so I am at a loss. If it's not the hard drive, what else can it be? I have it plugged into a UPS so I dont think it's a power thing. I've considered replacing the power supply, but I hate to keep throwing money at it if I'm not entirely sure what the problem is. Any thoughts would be welcome.
