KTXA, channel 21-1, in the Dallas, Texas, area, is behaving strangely for me. At approximately 1:00 PM today, I saw a U.S. Open tennis match on this channel on my HDTV's antenna input, but my TiVo HD (also on antenna input) was showing a college football game on this same channel at the same time. I re-scanned for channel detection updates on both the TV and the TiVo. I also rebooted the TiVo, but there was no change in this behavior.

The HDTV's antenna guide confirmed the tennis match was being broadcast, while the TiVo's guide confirmed the football game was being broadcast on the same channel at the same time. The TiVo has only had a broadcast antenna connected to it (no cable TV or cable cards), so there is no chance of conflicting guide data with antenna and cable TV guides.

Would anybody know why I am seeing different programming on the TV's antenna input vs. the Tivo's antenna input on the same channel in the same time period?

KTXA broadcast a college football game on 21.1 and tennis on 21.2. Maybe you just mis-read the channel number? If not, is it possible one of your tuners may be slightly off?

The TiVo correctly reported college football on 21.1. It sounds like the channel mapping was off on your TV, such that 21.1 actually tuned 21.2.

Running a channel scan on a TiVo will never change anything, because the guide numbers are always based on the official lineup from Tribune Media. They are completely independent of the channel scan. Channel scan is only useful to add channels that Tribune does not list.

Thank you mmcgown and bkdtv for your helpful replies.

bkdtv, you were right about my TV's channel mapping being incorrect. A channel re-scan of my TV's tuner fixed my problem. Oddly, when I re-scanned my TV's tuner yesterday, it did not fix it. Today, it did.

What added to my confusion yesterday was the dtv.gov website channel list showed that Dallas channel 21-1 (KTXA) is physical channel 19, which my TV confirmed prior to today's re-scan, while the TiVo reported physical channel 18 in its channel list. This is why I suspected the TiVo to be the problem instead of my TV.

Now both my TV and the TiVo report physical channel 18 (instead of dtv.gov's reported channel 19). Channel 21-1's website, cbs11tv.com/ktxa, confirms that physical channel 18 is correct, when comparing the 21-1's website programming guide data with my TV and TiVo's guide data, which are all the same now.

Anyway, all is well again, and thank you very much for guiding me to the right path to help me fix my problem.
