For the past few years, people have posted the Fall TV spreadsheets they have made to organize their viewing, SP priorities, etc. I've found these to be very helpful in the past and am very appreciative to those who have shared theirs. Has anyone done one for this fall season yet, and if so, are you willing to share it with the group?

Thanks in advance.

I guess there are people even more TV addicted than me! Though I guess I skim through the grid that usually shows up in the paper near fall TV season.

(...and a looong time ago, when I did actually get HBO and watched movies on it, I remember getting listings off some website in Lynx, saving them to a file, and figuring out what new movies premiered that week.. i.e. it wasn't just Saturday at 8pm.)

Thanks Rob for sharing. I was getting ready to do mine, but I just wasn't feeling it. You have premiere dates and new shows in bold. 2 minutes on Tivo forum and I'm good to go.

In looking at the spreadsheet and looking at tvguide.com among other sources, this quite possibly might be, the worst set of new primetime shows ever premiering in the fall. I have NO enthusiasm about ANY new show coming out. Usually there is one or two that I might be excited about. This year, zero. I will tune in to a few and hope for the best, but I'm not counting on much.

No prob. Just paying it forward. :)

Someone first posted that grid a couple of years ago, and I've just been updating it since. It was by far the best I'd seen for what I needed, which is primarily a way to lay out the network schedule so as to plan out scheduling conflicts so that I know how to order my SPs, which shows I need to farm out to the other Tivo, and which I will need to get via torrent (only 1 this year ;)). The one I use is color-coded for the shows that I watch, the shows that my wife watches, and the shows we watch together, again to make prioritizing easier.

That's exactly how I do it as well.

Great grid, thanks!

But no mention of Lost in January???
I'm only saying because of the other shows mentioned for January.

Or is it too depressing to put it on there?

I had it in there, but then I went to the the Futon Critic grid (where most of the info on my grid came from, but it has a bunch of stuff on it that I don't care about, and it doesn't easily shrink to one page) for Winter 2010, and Lost wasn't on it, possibly because they don't know for sure (yet) which time slot it is coming back to.

It's not exactly in spread sheet format and isn't ideally suited for figuring our DVR conflicts, but I like Pog Design's TV calendar (http://www.pogdesign.co.uk/cat/) for creating a customized, monthly overview of TV shows. You can just browse it as is and see what episode is airing and when an episode is a season premier (they're in orange), but if you create an account, you can filter your view to only those titles that you care about.

I still keep my own Google Docs copy for DVR/tuner planning, but this site is my go to site to see when episodes are starting again. It's got pretty much all of the fall season already available to customize, but is still lacking the brand new shows due out around midseason.

Woo, thanks! I need to replace the drive in one of our Series 3's and get to work on splitting up season passes. We have 2 S3's, and you would think with 4 tuners it would be easier! ;)

I try and consolidate shows on the same network all on a single TiVo though, so that if the show runs outside of its timeslot, I'll pick up the end at the beginning of the next show, and also I try and balance them so each one does about the same amount of work (so that I don't run out of space and lose shows because I overloaded one of them and then didn't watch the shows fast enough). Although, with the new drive in one of them that is twice as big as the old one I should probably put the "more likely to build up a backlog" shows on that one. The original drive had been pixelating all last year, and I thought it was just a poor CBS signal (since that was the TiVo that handled all the CBS shows), but then it started pixelating buffering Netflix streaming stuff. :)

I don't use a spreadsheet but I do edit the futon critic guide to highlight the shows I plan to watch/record. If anyone cares you can check it here. :)

Interesting, I thought Castle was canceled. Have to add that back in.

Good to know when things start.

FOX moving Fringe from Tuesday to Thursday opposite Supernatural isn't good for me. Guess I'll be watching The Office and 30 Rock on HULU.
Or maybe they will be available On Demand.

After color coding the spreadsheet, it appears that I have only 2 confilcts. Sunday night where I have three shows on at 9PM that I will at least watch at the onset Family Guy, DH and Three Rivers .(I'm on the fence about Three Rivers, but I'll at least watch the first couple of episodes)

The other is Thursday night at 8, where I have Survivor, Community and Flash Forward. These are the same conflicts times I had last fall.

On Tuesday, the only show I'm even going to CONSIDER watching is The Good Wife, and I rarely watch 10PM shows semi-live. So Tuesday is catch up night.

From the NBC website:

COMMUNITY SERIES PREMIERE, September 17th 9:30/8:30c

Is that just the premiere and 30 Rock will resume the timeslot later?

I think I read somewhere that it will air in that later timeslot for a month or so, while the SNL Weekend Update shows are on, and then when 30 Rock comes back in late October (I think), then Community will shift to the earlier time slot.

This is true, and I suppose that should be a caveat for my spreadsheet - since the SNL Weekend Update shows on Thursday are relatively short-lived, I opted to go with the schedule that NBC will use once 30 Rock comes back, which will shift Community to earlier in the evening.
