Eventhough I setup a manual recording to record a specifc channel number on a specific repeating time......Tivo started recording a different channel.
The reason was because Tivo/Zap2It's guide suddenly switched the "JADE" channel incorrectly from 360 to 262.....and I guess the Tivo was trying to help us out by changing our "Manual" specific Channel/Time recording for us. Of course this messed us up and the wife ain't to happy about the missed episodes of her soap.
Just wanted to point out that even when you manually set something....Tivo many change it....argh.
(ps. Yes I've submitted a form both on Tivo's and Zap2It's site......Comcast's own guide knows the correct lineup)

Your Tivo did nothing wrong. To a Tivo, channels aren't numbers, they are names and TiVo records the channel with the name that you choose to record.
Did you need help with something? This is the help forum afterall.
This is the help forum. OP is proving information that may be helpful to others.
Most of us know Season Passes are linked to the channel name. Our cable system moves HBO to a different channel number and our SPs automatically make the change.
It never would occur to me that a request to record channel 100 at 10p might be switched to an alternate channel.
One of the reasons for setting up a manual recording is situations where tivo doesn't have accurate guide data or channel information.

Heh..thanks Lew.
Yes I was trying to provide some help/feedback/expectations on how Manual Recordings actually work.
I guess I could submit an enhancement request to Tivo for an option that the manual recording be based on channel number, not Channel name....but I imagine it would only introduce confusion to the masses. So as with non-manual recordings, we are always at the mercy of Zap2it to provide accurate info.

Submitted case for channel issue on 9/3 to Tivo and Zap2it web forms.
Tivo responded they have assigned it and expect to have it resolved in 5-7 days. Of course it hasn't been fixed. Channel 360 still has no assigned channel name in the Tivo Guide. (Comcasts guide is correct).
Since Scandia101 wants everything in the form of a question :)....
Any suggestions?
