I have a TiVo Series 2 and a TiVo Wireless G USB Network Adapter connected to my home wireless network.
For months and months everything has been fine. Then a couple of weeks ago the "Broadband Video" Season Passes I have set up stopped coming in. (Usually this happens because the TiVo box loses its wireless connection. I typically detach and reattach the adapter and all is well -- sometimes I restart my router if necessary.)
This time, though, the wireless connection was fine. I was able to test the connection and do a TiVo Central connection too each time I tested it. The Season Passes were scheduled correctly and TiVo claimed that each would be downloaded as scheduled. I started reading various posts here and started trying various techniques that worked in other situations such as switching to a Phone connection, rebooting, switching back, etc. Nothing seemed to help.
Last night I tried switching wireless networks. Someone in my neighborhood has an unsecured wireless router, so I connected to that. The downloads began immediately. "Oh, good," I thought, "it's kickstarted itself." I switched back to my wireless network. I tried to watch an in-progress download (blue light) just after I switched back. TiVo said something like "this download is either incomplete or your network transmission speed is insufficient to complete the transfer at this time. Please try again in 21 minutes." Then the download vanished! I switched back to my neighbor's network. It started again and then began to download all my scheduled stuff. This morning all the downloads I had missed over the last several weeks were there.
Anyone have any idea what's going on?
Thanks,
Dave Tanner
