Pretty good card, plenty of knockouts to go around.

Couture vs Nogueira was entertaining, Nog looked much better (healthy) than in his loss to Mir. I enjoyed watching Lesnar shouting instruction to Randy.

Thiago vs, Silva vs Jardine ended rather abruptly - The Dean of Mean is always entertaining, I'm sure he'll knock off a top 5 contender next.

Simpson vs. Herman - for some reason I always love to watch Ed getting pounded and he was getting pounded until he hurt his knee, sorry to see him hurt though. Simpson looked pretty good, haven't heard much about him before.

Hauge vs. Duffee Todd Duffee gets the quickest KO in UFC history and doesn't even get the KO of the night, that honor went to Nate Marquardt who realizing Maia was out and pulled his last punch ;)

I tried watching online and with my new DSL it just wasn't working very well. It seemed like everytime the connection went bad the fight ended. Initially I was looking forward to most of the undercard but as the fights were happening I was asking myself why. I just don't get Jardine and Maia proved that he can't take a punch. I'd like to see Marquardt vs Henderson real soon with the winner getting a nother shot at Silva. Or just let one of these guys fight Silva again but make it soon.

Leben was disappointing. Something about him just looked off last night.

Couture vs Nogueira was a great fight. Just wanted it to go 5 rounds to see if Couture could make a comeback. That fight had everything striking, grappling, reversals. Nog is so slick off his back. Is a rematch with Mir his next fight given Mir defeats Cheick Kongo at UFC 107?

how in the world did he fight after getting kicked there? if he would have just said "i'm done", wouldn't it have been a NC and neither record would have been affected? I'd guess that would have been better than taking a beating and a L...

Ya but for guys that get in the ring and bleed and punch others in the face for fun, it's pretty chicken sh*t to not continue. There are probably 1 or 2 good swift kick in the nuts on most ppv cards but I have never seen a guy quit. This was by far the worst reaction I have ever seen but not necessarily the worst kick. I didn't think it looked any worse then so many others I have witnessed over the years. I don't think he stood much of a chance in this fight anways based on what I saw.

Not sure where you watched this but the sound of the foot hitting the cup was not for the faint of heart. Sounded like a bat hitting a tree. That plus his puking right afterwards told me the fight was over - I was totally surprised when he continued - esp when he kept grimacing and grabbing his package.

Most kicks to the groin are not spot on and usually are glancing shots. I remember Cro Crop not finishing a fight recently after getting knocked in the nutes a few times - he was losing the fight at the time and the speculation was that he quit rather lose.

I watched in on the web so maybe the impact was lost through the downsized quality. I agree that the grimacing and puking made it appear pretty bad though.

I really wasn't that excited about this card and was even more pissed when Comcast added an HD PPV channel and then didn't offer this fight in HD!

I almost skipped it to wait for the HD "On Demand" but I'm glad I went for it. This was a pretty darn good night of fights. Good recap in the first post so no need to restate it. Nog looked like the BJJ champ that he is. Great to see him back in form again. That last fight with Mir was depressing. I wonder how Mir feels about all this? It does kind of make it look like Mir got "lucky". Although, Mir sure seems to get "lucky" a lot. So I guess he makes his own luck? I think Mir's probably done now though, but he still has a great career as a fight commentator. ;)

Interesting that you asked this.

Here's a link (http://www.kfight.net/Fighter-Interviews/-Frank-Mir-thinks-Fedor-saying-he-has-nothing-to-prove-is-sad-Video) to a video discussing it as well as some other things. Here's a quote from the video.
"Rogan was making alot of excuses for certain fighters for why they performed badly. That always dissapoints me for the reason being: every fighter has reasons why we don't perform to 100%. I don't think as fans we want to hear heroes or warriors sitting there complaining that they nearly died of staph... I think that's pretty sad and pathetic."

I can't stand Mir. I honestly rooted for him over Nog in that fight but if they ever meet again I hope Mir's face looks worse than it did against Brock.

Mir should simply keep his mouth shut. He doesn't know when to shut up. I have to admit I kind of agreed with what a lot of what he said about Fedor though. :p

Mir vs Couture seems like it would be a good matchup for 2 former champs coming off of losses.

Mir said in an interview I saw that he doesn't want to fight Couture because he wouldn't be able to be "as vicious" against someone he sees as a hero.
