I currently have two series 2 Tivo boxes networked to my computer wireless router/hub using Cat 5 cable. Is it possible to keep this setup and add one more box wirelessly? Thanks for any advice.

You'll just need a wireless adapter from TiVo's list of approved adapters. I recommend that you purchase TiVo's own wireless adapter (http://www.amazon.com/TiVo-AG0100-Wireless-Network-Adapter/dp/B000ER5G6C).

I realize you're wanting to if you can combine both wired and wireless-- what do our manuals say? :)

Just keep in mind that wireless transfers are usually VERY S-L-O-W compared to wired. We gave up on wireless because of that!

But if you can't run connecting cable, you have no choice!

The transfer rates for S2's using the TiVo wireless adapter was faster than real-time for me. It depends on the S2 model. The 540 series were very underpowered and very slow, wired or wireless. The dual-tuner models are faster.

The number of devices you can put on a home network is fairly large, and can contain multple switches, wired and wireless, etc. We about about 30 devices on ours, including computers, TiVos, media players, game consoles, file servers, etc.

Hope that they were faster than real time! :) That's a pretty low standard for transfers.

Our Series 2 *single* tuner models are FAST on wired-- and dramatically faster than wireless, which sometimes could take hours or even stall out.

Aren't your dual tuner Tivos *much* FASTER wired than wireless?!!

In any event, I guess your point is that more recent vintage Tivos transfer pretty quickly wirelessly and that's good to know! I assume that the HD models are even faster...
