I HATE HATE HATE clip shows. Other than that, it was a decent episode. I think having Tess in charge of GD will be fun. Did I mention I love Tess?

I found myself 30ss through the stupid clips. How much new material was there in this episode? 30 minutes? Lazy producers.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of clip shows. But this one held my interest more than most. That's how much I enjoy this show.

I thought this was a lousy episode. I kept falling asleep during it and scrolling back and realizing it was mostly stuff I had seen before. Stuff I had enjoyed but still just clips. I like the Tess character and am glad that it seems she will continue onto the next season.

I know birth scenes are always ridiculous, but man oh man. From contractions to a month-old baby in five minutes? That has to be a record. And the continuity guy was asleep at the wheel because the baby had a pacifier in one scene (where did they get that?!) but not in the next.

I was reminded that I liked Allison better in the past. And I like Tess, but Allison and Carter HAVE to get together.

I can't remember, what happened to Allison's son? The one that is autistic.
Certainly not shipped off to live with his father, since his father is dead.

I thought for sure that when Allison was playing her memories that her son would show up, after the fact that he wasn't in her memories, I guess he must be off the show for good.

I'm starting to think this show is a warning to never let smart people be in charge of inventing anything. Nothing they design ever works and always seems to go badly.

They certainly don't test their devices before letting the general population of Eureka use them do they? "I just invented this. Let me give it to the smartest group of people in the world to try out and hope nothing goes wrong."

Agree, ugh clip show in Eureka clothing.

I SCREAMED ABOUT THIS IN THE THREAD FROM 2 WEEKS AGO AND NO ONE COULD GIVE ME A STRAIGHT ANSWER!?!?!? DID THEY 'CHUCK CUNNINGHAM' THE AUTISTIC KID? WTF??? WHAT KIND OF MESSAGE IS THIS? IF AUTISTIC KIDS ARE INCONVENIENT IN LIFE OR IN A STORY ARC WE CAN JUST WRITE THEM OFF?????????

WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?????

p.s. This show is going downhill fast.

WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?????You're not serious, are you? Non-autistic characters get ignored all the time (as you yourself noted in your "Cunningham" reference). So why should writers treat autistic characters any differently? Isn't the idea to treat everyone equally?

Dude. It's a tv show. I was surprised he wasn't shown as part of Allison's memories but I'm certainly not going to get all CAPS-LOCK about it. Although it is kind of odd that in the one episode of the season that he definitely should have been referenced, his "replacement" is born.

At least this clip show was more show than clip.

I'm reminded of how they got rid of the little sister on "Family Matters". It seemed when the Urkel character was introduced and became super popular, they got rid of the little sister to make room (screen time) for Urkel.

The little sister was African American. Where was the outrage when they got rid of the cute little African American child!!!????? :)

JUDY WINSLOW - Talk about a disappearing act. At the end of the show's fourth season, the youngest Winslow walked upstairs to her room...and was never seen again!

Officially it was for budget reasons. Most likely so they could pay Urkel more money. :)

But that's just TV convention. Where are you going to find a mother who will allow her newborn to be taken away for a day to shoot a television scene, under fairly stressful conditions? They pretty much have to use a slightly older baby.

(I had to laugh, however, at the dialogue, which was more appropriate for a genuine newborn. Wrinkly? Uh, not that I could tell! :D)

As usual, I'm in the minority. I actually thought for a clip show, this was well done and they actually made it part of the plot. I agree about the baby looking huge. It also made me wonder about that. Is there some sort of agency that new mothers can go to pimp out their newborns? It just seems tacky and odd.

They probably used the actresses real baby in that scene. The actress became pregnant with her second child during the filming of Season 3 of Eureka. Producers wrote her pregnancy into the script. Otherwise I find it hard to believe that casting couldn't find a smaller baby. At least one small enough to be a more believable newborn.

Years of watching countless TV births, that has got to be the least believable newborn I've ever seen.

So she was actually pregnant in real life? I wondered about that but was too lazy to look it up. She didn't seem to put a lot of weight on, so I wasn't sure. Hollywood must have pretty realistic looking, mechanical dolls they can use by now.

I was wondering why she wasn't wearing one of those pregnancy-hiding shirts that Carter's sister wore.....

So she was actually pregnant in real life? Her son, Dre Terrell Whitfield, was born on 24 January 2009. (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0724757/bio)

I was going to say that based on her body shape, I would guess she had a boy...which was weird that they had her give birth to a girl...but I guess it fit better for plot with naming the child...

and yes, for the record, I think I can predict the sex of the baby based on the shape of the pregnant woman...(all belly = boy...bigger all around = girl)...

I'm not much of a fan of clip shows and this one wan't an exception. After watching it, the wife turned to me and asked, "Is it just me, or has this show gotten WAY too predictable?" I had been thinking pretty much the same thing. I enjoy all the characters but it seems like they've gotten awfuly formulaic this season. Oh well, it's still more enjoyable than most other scripted shows and far preferable to me over any reality programming. Maybe it's just because Tess is a hottie. And Alison. And Jo. And the daughter. And... Whoa, that show has a lot of hotties in it!

BTW: How did Zoe manage to get down to Level 5? Yes, her thumb was scanned, but I thought the elevator had a retinal scanner (as shown in the previous episode)

She probably used one of those memory balls. If it could erase people's memories through their eyes, I'm sure the same principles would allow it to hack into a retinal scanner. :D

Clips shows make me glad that the expected number of shows per season is becoming less standard. Hopefully we will eventually reach a point where every episode of a series matters instead of being created simply to fill time.

Yeah and I find it disturbing that entire access to level 5 (the most top secret level) can be granted to another person with no GD credentials at all from a computer in the lobby.

But you know, whatever.

This didn't bother me, I assumed that the computers are all linked, and with the right passwords and ID you perform any security measures from any computer.

They used her thumb print to verify her at the computer, Her retinal ID was most likely already on file, she'd been in their hospital often enough. I just thought access was granted a little fast.

I have to admit, I wondered why her son wasn't in allison's memory clips. I also thought it was interesting that the all of the memory clips with her and Jack were from the first season, where they were falling in love. Wasn't that wiped from her memory when the time line changed, and weren't Jack's memories erased by Henry after the change as well?

It was OK, but was I the only one who was thinking that Henry's memory ball would unveil the secret of the "future that didn't happen" with Allison and Carter being married, etc.?

Figure it was an OK show for those who haven't been watching until this year.

If I lived in Eureka I would put aside any new invention for a week or so before trying it out.

Carter zapped Henry's memory and then did himself right? But there are still shadows of that alternate past haunting Carter. I'm 99% sure Carter's flashbacks included 'alternate past' scenes, but Henry's did not.

I was also watching for it.

I was also watching for it.I thought it was Henry that zapped Carter's memory telling Carter prior to the event that he was going to do his own, but didn't. But you are right in thinking that some of Carter's memories were from the timeline that had him in the relationship with Allison.

Having some of the "alternate" memories being viewed by the characters would have made for an interesting plot twist.

But since they seem to ignore past major events, I'm not suprised they didn't do it.

Heh!

I'm guessing they're trying to keep this more on the lighter and somewhat simplier side of things. Both Sci-Fi and just not an intense show. This is one of the few sci-fi shows that my wife will actually watch. She doesn't like shows that are too involved, either. This is a "fun" show, with just enough sci-fi elements to keep the geeks happy.

Contrast to Babylon 5. An excellent, but totally opposite type of series.

Exactly. To pick this show apart for this or that being inceivable, is crazy. I don't think this show is meant to be a high tech sci fi show, it's meant to be a light breezy summer show with some crazy comic book type sci fi, and quirky fun characters. I really can't stand those real high tech shows like Babylon 5. It's one of the reasons that I was a bit disappointed in how Lost went. It went too high tech sci fi for me.

Ah but they did. In one of Carters played back memories they
show Henry using the memory wipe device on Carter. I'm
surprised Carter didn't wonder what that was about (or maybe
he will in a future episode). Also not a fan of clip shows
but this one was ok.
