Summer Glau ("Firefly," "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") reunites with Joss Whedon when the actress joins the cast of DOLLHOUSE this fall in a recurring role as BENNETT, a Dollhouse employee who shares a past with ECHO (Eliza Dushku).

Now they can reuse the promos from the beginning of last year with Summer and Eliza in them for the Friday night Fox shows.

So either she's not a Doll(but why capitalize both names) or they've dropped the NATO naming scheme.

EDIT: NM. Apparently they capitalized everyones names.

Both are nice too look at but lets face facts. Summer is a much better actress than Eliza.

so we've got Apollo and Tigh from BSG, Wesley from Angel and now Summer Glau?

Geek transformation complete.

With a name like Bennet, I'm assuming Summer is not a doll, just an employee, like Topher, the handlers, etc. I'm guessing she just knew Echo before she became a doll.

Either way, I like this addition, too.

Summer + Dichen = :up::up:

Or she's another doll who doesn't know she's a doll. Although doing that twice seems like it would lessen the impact and be kind of cheap.

I think that was sufficiently vague to avoid needing spoiler tags. We'll see. ;)

Either way, I like this addition, too.So yeah, take the girl who's known for playing odd, strangely-flat characters and make her a regular person amongst the dolls. That one ranks right up there with casting Sean Connery as the only non-Scotsman in the "The Highlander" (flashback scenes) ;)

Having just rewatched that recently, I agree. I was all WTF?

I wonder if Joss will write in anything that uses Summer's ballet skills. That scene in TSCC when she was doing ballet was awesome.

He already did that in her debut on Angel if I recall properly.

Then I think odds are good that he will on Dollhouse.

That wasn't written specifically for her. She was cast in that role because, among other things, she could do the dancing.

That was her first role in a Joss production, so he wasn't writing vanity scenes for her yet. :)

>sigh< all that and Amy Acker too...

4 words:
This feels so right.

No, 3 words:
Homina homina homina.

Oh wait 2 more words:
Oh, yeahhhhh.

One more:
Yummy.

Any word if they're going to put the icing on the cake and keep Felicia Day from "Epitaph One" in the second season?

I might take a serious interest in the show if Jewel Staite shows up...

So that would make it:
Eliza
Dichen
Summer
Amy
Jewel (in a perfect world)
That would definitely be a beautiful line-up!!!

But is anyone else saddened by the fact that the worst actress on that list is the one this show's ultimate success depends on?

it's all about make believe...when an actress is sufficiently hot (and shows enough skin), I make believe she's a good actress...it works for me ;)

Just my opinion, but Dichen looks like one of her parents was a Picasso painting.

As much as I like Summer Glau, I have to admit that I don't agree there. Neither one will be winning an Emmy anytime soon.

I don't know, I think Eliza did a great job acting in the first ep. How she kept us from seeing her tush while she was dancing; well thats just an amazing acting job.
