Nurse Jackie - Health Care and Cinema - 08/24/09

I can't believe the series is over for the season already. This show is definitely a keeper. Best line of the show was by one of the patients - "You know, my ex-wife used to bitch that I never talked," the patient says. "Look at me now, I'm spilling my guts." :D I liked the use of CCR at the end of the show, too. It will be interesting to see what happens with Eddie next season. I'm watchng the Sopranos from the beginning now, and I just saw Eddie as Father Phil.

How funny is Anna Deveare Smith? "Oh, yes, Dave...." ;) She has a thankless job and I love seeing her blow off steam.

Jackie's "trip" at the end was too weird-did anyone else see that? :D

I think Eddie set Jackie up with that Pill-O-Matic. No way something as simple as unplugging it would bypass its logging capability.

I think it was the latter, but I'm not sure. Also remember that she swallowed injectable Morphene, which wouldn't pack the same punch as mainlining it.

I don't think so, remember Eddie still thought he and Jackie could be "an item" when he showed her the unplugging thing. My theory is that the Pill-O-Matic wasn't fully operational, or was still in diagnostic mode and they put it fully on line after Eddie left.


The good thing about the way they ended the series is they can pick it up a few weeks or months down the road, because the way the series was going they were going to have to deal with an immediate crisis in Jackie's live/career. This way they can get her in rehab or something.

On the Pill-O-Matic I took it that Coop was responsible. There was a scene where he was trying to get meds and the monitor had gibberish. My assumption was he went to get it repaired.

What a great show! I finally watched the whole season over the last week or so and just finished last night. I'm going to miss it. The only thing I hate about HBO or SHO programs is the super long hiatus.

Did anybody see what the vials were that she got there at the end? Clearly they were injectables, but I didn't see what the med was.

I had a feeling, when Eddie was at the bar, he was going to go off the deep end in some way. So sad with the mother of the Brit doc (sorry, forgot her name) and at the time Jackie was embroiled in her own set of crises that there was nobody there for the doc.

Brilliant highbrow show.
