I've spent a few hours here, on the sling forum, on the JP1 forum, and Googling, and can't find a current answer.

Does the current SlingPlayer software support controlling multiple S3s in the same room? I have mine set up to two different IR addresses, and I wonder if the player software supports these addresses. I'm particularly interested in the Macintosh client, though I can use Windows if need be.

In 2007, the answer was no, and member sfhub created custom IR files for SlingPlayer which were based on the Series 2 remote. I'm hoping that, in the two years, Sling has added this feature to their software. Even back then, they supported channels 1-4 for Series 2 units.

Thanks!

Yes, it does on Windows with the latest software. I don't know about the Mac software.

Thanks! That's one down. Hopefully a Mac user will chime in.

I tried downloading and using the Mac software, but you need a SlingBox first! Come to think of it, I think version 2.0 of the Mac SW is coming "real soon now," to support HD streaming. If the current software lacks this feature, hopefully the new version will have it.

Oh, the other Sling catch-22 is, you can't register for an account and write to tech support unless you already have a SlingBox and SlingBox ID. They make it hard to get answers...

Again, thanks.
