View Full Version : One HD Channel Freezing

On Cablevision, Starz Edge HD on channel 774 (now 813) freezes, after a couple of seconds, with no audio. It's a Switched Digital Video channel via a Tuning Adapter, with CableCards, of course. I don't think it's the Tuning Adapter or CableCards, because it tunes in fine, even for a couple seconds.

Resetting the TiVo HD does solve the problem. However, a day or so later, it will go back to freezing after a couple seconds of tuning in. I've found that keeping the channel tuned in maintains it past a couple days, implying that tuning into it anew after a day may instigate the freezing.

In addition, this happens across both 774 and 813 (the channel 774 is in the process of moving to), and both freeze at the same time, implying it's the feed that's the problem, although their standard-definition counterpart has no freezing issues. (No other channels, SDV or no, have the same problem.)

Once, for about a week, there was no freezing. Then it would happen at fewer and fewer intervals, so maybe it's dissipating; I can always watch the content in standard def. I'm divided on whether it's a TiVo issue, Cablevision issue, or Starz issue; each can defend itself on the grounds that, respectively: TiVo handles all the other channels well, all the other Cablevision channels work, and the other Starz feeds have no problem. (My money's on Cablevision....) Anyone else have this problem?
