I use my tivo remote for my main HD TV and the tivo HD uses FIOS cable cards.
I split the output from the Tivo HD and a FIOS low-def cable box to the rest of my house.
So I want one remote control to be able to control the tv power and volume, the tivo box, and the fios box.
I need one of these remotes in my bedroom and guest bedroom. The idea is that one person could be watching something on tivo in the living room and someone else could watch something different in the bedroom.
I use nextgeneration remote control extenders so that the remote will "see" the cable box and tivo hd.
So my questions are:
a) can the FIOS remote control the tivo hd?
b) what's the cheapest solution for a learning remote? I don't want to use Harmony and activities as it confuses my mother-in-law...modes or screens on a remote is not a good thing. Just one set of buttons and then tell her what they do is the idea I'm looking for.
thank you in advance.
