Last night CBS was supposed to have a one hour special of a new Neil Diamond concert called Hot August Nights. I had it listed in my (Comcast) DVR schedule. I was even home when it started taping but when I turned to the channel that listed the show, CBS was showing some rerun. I looked to see if Neil was rescheduled but he isn't listing.

Anyone else see Neil? Maybe my DVR didn't go to the right channel?

My parents' Dish DVR picked it up and it was indeed Neil Diamond. My mom said it was excerpts from a show he did a year ago in Madison Square Garden. She had the DVD of the full thing, which is about two and a half hours.

I know nothing of Neil Diamond so I took her word for it.

[edit] It was on the local CBS affiliate which they get through their Dish, cause they live in the boonies.

Thanks, I guess it just didn't "tape" for me.

I had set to record Smallville, instead it recorded Neil Diamond.

I see that there are two listings for Hot August Nights on usenet, but I can't seem to find it on any of the public torrent sites. But there looks to be a standard def 400meg rip and a 1.2GB HD copy as well.

Interesting, I think the show it recorded instead of Neil was Smallville.

I watched the show and at first wasnt sure if he still had the voice. The first song wasnt that great. But after he got started things did sound better. He doesnt have the great voice he once had but it is still good to listen too. I think they have changed the cords to make it easier for him. I was surprised to see the age range of those attending. Teens to what looked like 60's.
