i am using tivo with sky digital, for some strange reason channel changing is going haywire. some times it misses the 1st digit, or 2nd or 3rd. sometimes it will enter digits twice eg for sky 1 it may enter 10066. and sometimes it doesnt work at all. there doesnt seem to be any regularities with the problem. i have reset the machine and also tried using the front i.r blaster but still the same. i have tried all the codes under sky and they all experince the same problem or dont work at all. anyone have any ideas??

It's best to use only one IR wand, not both.
Also make sure the front blaster is tuned of in the tivo menu when using the external IR wands.

could you use a rf2link cable?

Sounding like a duff remote to me though there is a potential for it receiving a double signal from the two wand headers and/or the front blaster. Missing digits would be the signals interfering with each other.
Actually it depends whether you are seeing the extra digits on the Tivo's on-screen banner or on the Sky box.
On the Tivo's then it's your remote. If the Tivo's banner shows only the three digits you press on the remote but the Sky box's channel number changing graphic shows extra digits then you've got your wands/blaster wrong.

the missing/extra numbers are on the sky box not tivo. i'm only using one IR wand, it has worked fine for a coulpe of years infact it was one i made as my tivo never came with one and made one from a wireless av sender. nothing in the setup has changed so it does sound like the IR wand tho the problem still occurs when i change the settings to send the channel change via the front blaster instead of the IR wand so i dunno. i'll have a fiddle with the IR wand later on today
