So today is when I FINALLY get to upgrade my TiVo HD to a new WD 1-TB drive. I'm doing this in kind of a convoluted way and I'm in need of a little help. The upgrade is happening on my iMac. I have WinXP (SP2) running on Parallels and I have one SATA --> USB enclosure. I'm using WinMFS to do the upgrade.

My goal is to backup my TiVo HD drive and then restore it to the new 1-TB drive. Now I know this method will work for making the new drive TiVo-ready and when I go to restore WinMFS should ask if I want to expand the drive's usage to 1-TB but here is my question:

Will this method preserve my settings (thumbs, season passes, etc)?

I know this won't keep my recordings but that is not an issue. While setting up all 50 SP's and Wishlists would suck it's not the end of the world. I would like to avoid it though.

Thanks!

Well a quick update to answer my own question: Yes all settings are preserved. The upgrade went as smooth as could be. Truncated backup of the old drive, Restore on the new drive. Super easy and all my settings remain.
