Luckily, no one was seriously hurt, but John Barrowman is going to have a television segment he'll remember for a long time, and it doesn't involve Ianto Jones.

Barrowman, who plays Capt. Jack Harkness in the "Doctor Who" spinoff series "Torchwood," reportedly was treated for glass in his eye after a Subaru he was driving for the British show "Fifth Gear" went out of control and plunged down an embankment. The Subaru flipped four times, and just missed a lake that was near the track in Powys, Wales, according to Wiki News.

Actual article title: "John Barrowman does a Hamster! (http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/412909/John-Barrowman-in-horror-crash-like-Richard-Hammond.html)". (*)

I mean, I knew the man was 'flexible'....

Fortunately, he apparently walked away from the accient fairly unharmed. And they've said the crash will be shown during tomorrows episode of Fifth Gear.

(*) Referring to Richard 'Hamster' Hammond's crash on Top Gear three years ago.

Well...

From the current Dr. Who series....

I remember it being hinted in the Dr. Who series that Jack eventually evolves into the "Big Giant Head" creature, 'Face of Boe'. The creature was hinted to be billions of years old. It eventually died in a Dr. Who episode. From old age. So, I guess Jack does eventually die but not in his current form. An executive producer of the show has stated publicly that Captain Jack is 'Face of Boe'.

that was going to be my response to the post about "finding a way to die" then I figured it was too geeky a response! ;) :p

I should have learned by now that nothing is too geeky on TCF :D

Is 5th Gear the same show as Top Gear?

Different show, but similar. A bit more actual car show and a bit less, well, Clarksonness.

Is 5th Gear the same show as Top Gear? It's what Top Gear used to be before the BBC canned it in 2001 due to low ratings.

As I understand it, the cast & production team of the original show got an offer to continue the show on Channel Five, but the BBC withheld the rights to the name "Top Gear".

The current "Top Gear" is nothing like the original show, in that it rarely features reviews of vehicles that it's viewers can afford.
