View Full Version : Twofer: How to get program guide and viewing programs on non-sub Tivo.

1. I'm usually not that dense, but I cannot find a program guide anywhere. I.e. a list of all channels and what's playing and the ability to move through it and click what you want to watch. Las Vegas, Cox Digital, Tivo HD XL.

2. I have a Tivo HD XL with lifetime and a Series 2 with no sub. Can I watch stuff from one to the other in the same house?

You have been here since 2002 and you can't find the program guide on your TiVo?

Yes :( I don't want to see what's being recorded and what has been recorded, I want to see what is currently playing on TV in a guide and clickable format.

You asked question number 2 in 2006; the answer hasn't changed.I guess I'll have to start changing!

D'oh, thanks :o I had gotten there before but it was such an ugly list that I didn't think that could be a program guide, and pressing enter didn't do anything... enter works now.

Changed it to grid and it's better than list view but I wish it would take over the entire screen to fit more info. I don't know why they don't make Grid the default.

Because it sucks! The TiVo Live Guide is much easier to navigate.

Actually, it depends on how you're using it. If you're just looking to see what's on right now or in the next hour, then the grid would be easier. However, if you're looking to see what's on in the next 4-8 hours (which is usually the case for me), then the Live Guide is much, much easier.

Since the TiVo is primarily a time shifting device, it makes sense that it defaults to the Live Guide which makes it a little easier to schedule future recordings.
