It's difficult for me to know for certain since I had already watched the entire first season before watching this, but I think if Fox had aired this in place of the 'actual' first episode, I would have been much more enthusiastic about this series. Instead, the series didn't seem to get good until the 5th or 6th episode.

Fox screwed up by forcing the creator to dump his original vision of the start of the series and instead drag things out as slowly as he did.

Or maybe I'm the only one who liked the unaired pilot more than the first few shows that replaced it (storywise at least)?

They're for two different unaired episodes. The unaired pilot and the unaired 13th episode. Also, there aren't going to be ratings posted for these episodes so what are you doing posting in the threads Alfer?

They showed Victor in the dollhouse! As much as I'm liking this as a pilot, I loved being on the fence w/r/t Victor being an active.

I am guessing anything that is not in this episode and maybe in epside 5 needs to be spoilerized correct? If that is the case in response to Robin ^^^

We have seen Victor in the Dollhouse many times now. The whole grouping scene, where Echo Victor and Sierra kept eating together was used later in the season

Not sure this needs to be spoilerized, but JIC:

w/o this pilot we didn't know whether Victor was a doll for the first few eps and it was a big reveal when we first saw him there. If this had aired as the pilot you only would have had a few minutes of wondering.

Yeah I noticed that too. That was a huge difference in this pilot vs. the new one and how everything panned out. I wonder if we had this pilot if we would have had less crap episodes in the season.

Maybe proportionally. Only 7 out of 13 would have been crappy instead of 7 out of 12.

No not at all, though that is funny. :D There were clearly scenes taken from this unaired pilot that were used in later episodes, even much later episodes. Also the pacing of this pilot was a lot more quick then the one that aired. If this aired it would have caused a whole butterfly effect on how the other episodes would pan out wouldn't it?

I had a few gripes about it, too but still loved it. ;)
