I've had my HD Tivo for about five months. Almost from the beginning we've watched Netflix instant queue movies through our Tivo, and it's been great--great picture and sound quality. Suddenly, about a week or so ago, this stopped working. When we go to our watch instantly queue, all the movies are there. If we chose one, it says it's loading/streaming, but when that screen goes away--when the movie had always started playing before--the screen goes totally blank. The time bar at the bottom disappears as well. No sound. No video.

On some of the movies, if we press fast forward, the picture comes on and jumps forward a few scenes. If I pause it, the picture stays. If I press play, the picture goes away. No sound, no picture.

Netflix always asks me to rate these movies. But we have not been able to view anything. ideas?

Was on the phone for a very long time with TiVO customer service tonight. I am not the only one having this issue. We tried a lot of things--here's the solution. You can't play it to the TV using the HDMI cable. So I run it through our DVD recorder with an S-video cable, and sound on RCA plugs. Now I can watch netflix movies through my DVD recorder (which is ironic since it won't record those movies).

This seems to be connected to something in the Netflix software that was done to prevent HD recordings being made....

Anyway, my son can now watch his japanese anime through the instant watching queue, and all is right with the world.

Customer service says this is being worked on...we'll see how long it takes for a fix.

That sounds fishy to me. Try powering down/up all components - TiVo, router, modem. Power up in the reverse order and try it again.

There's nothing that should prevent watching Netflix thru HDMI - I, and thousands of others, do it all the time.
