Philips HD Series

Newbie here...hope no question is a dumb one!

In question: Philips HD series w/no hard drive units.

1. Are they a deal?
2. Are they hard for a novice to install hard drive and update?
3. Is it a High Def unit which will require a "card" and "adaptor?" I have TWarner in LA.
4. Would you buy one or would you just got to TIVO site and buy a refurbished HD unit?
I am currently a Series 2 owner and am considering purchasing a HD unit, just bought a HD tv...I connect directly via cable, no box...

The only non-direcTV Tivos made by Philips were the HDRxxx & PVRxxx which are the original Tivos. They are not hi def. They haven't even been manufactured for about 7 years.

No model #, I just came across them for sale on the internet..it peaked my curiosity as I've been contemplating making the jump to an HD unit or staying put with my 1 Series 2 for the time being. Thanks for your interest, looks like scandia101 has answered my question regarding HD for those. I suppose I can just add a HD to my Series 2 until I decide to go w/a HD unit.
