I just connected my Series 2 to my recently new home network. I have a lot of movies that I have purchased on iTunes and would like to play them on my TIVO. The help center for TIVO desktop says that MPEG-4 files can be played, but the movies are not being allowed to play on my TIVO.

You have two problems:

- Series 2 machines can't play MPEG-4 video (unless the MPEG-4 is transcoded to MPEG-2 by TiVo Desktop, one of the replacements for TiVo Desktop, or a standalone encoder)

- Apple's videos from the iTunes Store are all encumbered by DRM, meaning most of the things that want to transcode the files can't actually do so.

As far as I'm aware, there isn't any software capable of removing the FairPlay DRM from the video files you've bought from Apple, so there's no real way to do what you want at the moment.
