It looks like they are going to be set in Boston for this season, and that they did some actual filming (as opposed to just "Establishment" shots) in the city as well, I think the theater that Sophie's play was in was Jordan Hall in the John Hancock building.
That said it was a good "restart" for the season/series, with the bad guys out conning the Leverage team (for a little while). They also had the usual good comedy moments:
Hardison: I hacked the White House E-mail, it was no fun. We are doing some funky things in Pakistan, tho.
Eliot: I was in Pakistan.

Yeah I was definitely surprised that they city scape shots were Boston, I've gotten so used to shows just saying they are someplace but actually filming in Toronto.
It was hard to tell with the car crash scene but I don't think they did that in Boston. It looked more like Cambridge or Somerville to me, though that could have been shot anywhere.

Actually, Leverage is set in Toronto. They just film in Boston to save money.

Im sure the car crash was filmed at their "home base" (Vancouver? Toronto? LA?), BTW the "car flying through the air" was all CGI (and not too well done at that) OTOH I'm sure their insurerers weren't going to let them putTim Hutton actually that near a flying car

I have to question this comment....too many references to the FBI last season and the most recent episode referenced "State" Police and not Provincial Police or RCMP. ergo...story is set in a United States city.

It felt kind of like another attempt at a pilot to introduce people to the show. As long as they don't make a habit of it, I guess it's alright.

To me, it almost felt like when they made the finale last season they thought the show wasn't coming back, so they decided just to end it and didn't think enough about what would happen if the show DID come back. And as a result, they had to do more in an hour than they could comfortably do. My dad watched the show this week for the first time, and wasn't impressed; I have convinced him to give it another shot.
Hopefully, now that that's over with they can just get it on again.

Ok, now that I'm caught up (again)... ;)
Not a bad episode, although I wish they'd just give the whole "Nate is an Alcoholic" thing a rest for a while. It got quite tiresome last season, and I'm glad to see that they are showing that he's trying to avoid that this season. I really hope that they don't keep hammering that point home all season though.
This show has some of THE worst CGI I have seen in a long time. I mean, I noticed it last season with "The Mile High Job" and the shots of the airplane, but the car crash was just as abysmal. I mean, seriously, I've seen better CGI from students doing it as a college project.
Is it just me, or are all of Gina Bellman's (Sophie) accents uniformly BAD?
Yes, I know, I'm complaining a lot about a show I rather like.

This was a pretty decent episode. My only problem with this show is that I liked Hustle more.

Well, since they aren't making any more episodes of Hustle, that point is kind of academic.

Special effects were cheesy but the rapport among the cast reminds me of why I like the show so much.
I could do without the Nate alcohol subtext but otherwise, I really enjoy the show.
