In the last week, I've seen GEICO commercials featuring the gecko, the disembodied eyeballs and the cave man. I'm no commercial specialist, so I'll ask. Has any other company run three different simultaneous commercial campaigns?

Yes, I know this is a TiVo forum...

They also have some commercials featuring talking cars. I was actually wondering the same thing you do - normally different campaigns don't seem to run simultaneously like this.

I think these days they usually have three campaigns going. Two of them are long-lived campaigns. The gecko commercials have been running for ten years, and the caveman commercials have been running for five years. Other campaigns have come and gone over time (celebrity spokepeople, the spoof/parody commercials from a few years ago) but those two are sticking around. I don't know if the new guy, Kash the Googly Eyes, will have that kind of staying power.

Budweiser have been doing this for years!

Recently, it's been the comedic ads (get super powers with beer, Real Men Of Genius, etc.) plus the ads featuring the Clydesdales.

Capital One has not only run multiple simultaneous campaigns, it runs new commercials that only make sense if you've seen the old campaigns. (Why are there barbarians customizing their Capital One cards? You have to know the old "barbarian horde" commercials to get it.)

You have to remember that Budweiser, Bud Light, and Budweiser Select, while owned by the same company, are marketing as completely different brands. You can't equate simultaneous campaigns for them with the simultaneous GEICO commercials.

Having said that, you're probably right that they do have simultaneous campaigns running. The clydesdales and dalmatians seem to be more of the "corporate image" that don't focus on any particular brand. Then they have their various public service spots about not drinking and driving. Then each brand has its own individual campaign(s).

That's one of those cases that always annoy me, where you can tell that they had a successful commercial that made some sense and was funny, and then try and "cash in" on that one with ludicrous ads that emulate it but are awful.
