How is the cooling abilities of the Toshiba SD-H400?

I'm contemplating an upgrade with a 7200RPM 640GB drive, I know there are some concerns about the ability of TiVo units in regards to cooling/air flow.

I'm running a 1TB 7200rpm in mine and it runs @47c - the same it did with the original 80GB drive. It runs warm but still within the peramiters

If you can find one, I'd recommend a 5400 RPM drive (HDD, hard disc drive). It will run much cooler than a 7200 RPM or 10000 RPM drive. The HDD in a TiVo is not exercised as much as the HDD in your average computer. Speed is not a big factor, neither is the size of the cache.

It is also recommended to turn the acoustic attributes of the drive to their quietest. This also helps with heat, because the HDD is not working as hard. Unfortunately, not all HDD manufacturers let you adjust these settings.

Good luck,
