Folks,
It is now 2009 and I am trying to copy my season passes to my new series 3. I read thru the related threads and the latest was in 2007. Since then have any advances been made so that I can copy my passes? And yes I know I can always write down the 2000 entries and recreate
I have both Mac and Pc tivo desktops but not the plus, but didnt see that functionality available anyway.
Thanks so much to all of you in advance!

There is no way to copy season passes, wish lists, etc. You may find it easier to setup season passes using Tivo's web based scheduler, rather than the funky on screen Tivo system. You can then set the priority order on the TIvo.

The Tivo HD and XL are part of the Series 3 family. The original Series 3 was called a Series 3, making this somewhat confusing.

I second the suggestion to use online scheduling . That beats previous techniques like pen and paper or digital photos of existing Season Passes.

The only real problem is that I'm betting that a lot of shows in your SP list might not have showings in your current guide data - Summer hiatus and all. This might make it difficult to schedule stuff that won't be around until the Fall.

If you don't have a lot of network prime-time stuff then you should be good. While you can use auto-record Wishlists for stuff not in the guide, I haven't figured out how to do that online - if it can be done at all, which I'm thinking you can't.

It is unfortunate this feature is not available. I was searching for this info as I am going through this process from a S2DT to a new TivoXL.

If I was just upgrading a hard drive, I could use mfs tools to do the backup & restore, but I don't think that is possible for different Tivo models. Or is it?

My HDTV has a nice PIP side by side feature. I can view the old tivo and new tivo side by side and create season passes while looking @ list from the old tivo. using the 1-2 switch on the tivo remote I can control both lists.

PIP/side-by-side are nice workarounds, but it is still a pain to enter close to 100 season passes & wish lists.
I also have to keep track of expired season passes in case they comeback (I used wishlists for shows I want to catch up on repeats)

BTW, I configured two separate remotes to control S2DT & TivoXL independently. May be I should just use one remote with the 1-2 switch. I suppose this is a preference thing, but I have to use another universal remote for a TV & DVD player to program all the PIP options.

No, it is not possible between different TiVo models. Even if it was, the plan would not work. When copying from one TiVo to another the new TiVo would need to do a Clear & Delete Everything before the new hard drive can be used which would erase the Season Passes & Wishlists.
