I was starting to have a nightmare install situation with an M-series card, but one simple thing made everything better. I was getting all the SD channels but only a few HDs. The THIRD tech that was out was doing all the same stuff the previous ones did - replacing the card, calling in the numbers, cold hit, re-initialization, etc. Nothing was working. He was looking out the window while on hold with the back office and noticed an old torpedo type filter on my line way up on the pole. He climbed up, removed it, and presto, everything worked! So - if you’re having problems with all your channels tuning in with cable cards, have them check your line for remnants of days past.

Man I remember those things they were used to either allow or dis-allow certain channels through.

That would be the reason west division penalizes me as a tech if I visits a tap and do not remove all filters for any other customer not on 10$ limited basic service. Preventing a service call for missing HD channels blocked by the now unused filters.

Good reminder. That one bit me, too. Third time around finally got a tech that knew what to do.
