I thought no one used blockbuster anymore. Had no idea they even had a streaming service. What's wrong with Netflix? or Amazon?

Maybe the OP has a Blockbuster subscription and just wants to know if/when he'll be able to stream content using his existing subscription.
I have no idea if/when this will ever happen, by the way....

I just noticed TiVo.com has a page where you can sign-up to be notified when Blockbuster is available on TiVo.

I think they have a streaming service for PC, but charge per movie, unlike Netflix where it is included in even the most basic subscription plans. The phrase "Adapt or Die" could not be more relevant to Blockbuster's future.

If you have a BlockBuster store nearby their subscription has a big advantage as you can return the movie to the store and get credit for the return that day, if you return the movie before 11AM they will ship out your next movie that day..that why I left Netflex. (The store return is only an option as you can still use the mail for returns)

Blockbuster used to be great but in recent months the service has been the worst. I switched to Netflix about 2 moths ago and I have no clue why I did not switch sooner. Netflix blows Blockbuster out of the water.

Blockbuster's TiVO service is supposed to be a download service similar to Amazon. As far as I know it won't be streaming (though that could change).

I tried BlockBusters mail service a few years ago. During the trial month there was a minimum 3 day turn around period (frequently longer) and several discs got "lost in the mail". I never continued after the trial period since if the service was that bad during the trial period (when they're trying to hook you in) I couldn't imagine what it would be like after the trial period.
I signed up with Netflix late last year and the service is great. I have a 2 day turn around time.
My only complaint is that technically I could get discs the next day since mail sent to the distribution center should arrive the same day, but for whatever reason Netflix doesn't process returns until the next day after they arrive. I know this is a fact since they said they "received" a disc on President's Day, when there is no mail service. They also don't send mail out until the afternoon. So there's a day killed for processing time.

I have a blockbuster account and the turnaround has been stellar (always 2 day turnaround); plus they do not charge a premium for Blu-Ray.
I suppose it all depends on how far away you are from the local depot.

Yeah my turn around used to be about two days as well then it was close to a week. Plus Blockbuster raised prices and you can still exchange in store but the in store NOW counts as toward the mail in amount. In other words they USED to send you new DVD's via the main as soon as you took them (the mail one's) in the brick and mortar store. NOW they do not send them via mail until the in store rentals are back as well.

I had this same conversation the other day with a friend. I think that having the store, next door to your house, offers no real advantage. You walk into the store and spend at least 30 minutes trying to find a movie and often have to choose another (because they don't have your first choice one) and try to find it within the store.
At least with the Netflix queue you know what the next movie is going to be (for the most part) and you get it within a day or so. And ofcourse the added advantage of streaming.... which from the sound of things... BlockBuster is not going to do.

I don't pay for or use the store for DVD movies, it is just a way to get same day credit for returning the movie you got in the mail, it is much faster than Netflex as they scan the return movie into their computer at the store and by the time you get home the movie return credit there.

I dumped Blockbuster after several years when the instore turn-in option became less and less desirable. As one poster stated, you used to be able to do in store turn-in which would trigger a new movie from your Queue plus a movie from in store. Plus I used to get two coupons for a movie or game. First they eliminated one of the coupons, then they started charging for the in-store exchange; less than full price but that became the deal killer. The worst part was that I was not a heavy user except during Christmas and summer break when the kids were out of school. I often watched less than 3 movies per month and sometimes no movies. They alienated probably one of their more profitable customers.
I tried Netflix for a couple of months, because of the streaming option. But, the library of streaming movies had nothing but older movies and limited HD. I have every movie package that FIOS offers so its rare that there is a "must see" streaming movie on Netflix that I can't get on FIOS.
For me, its cheaper to get on-demand through Amazon, FIOS, iTunes for newer movies I'd want to see. Now, if someone were to offer an unlimited streaming option with new releases, I'd probably pay for something like that. If Blockbuster becomes another Amazon-like option, it might add some competition, but that's about it.

yep, if the Blockbuster deal adds ability to easily get new movies close to the day they come out on DVD with only a subscription fee then I might consider that. It can be download, as long as I have more than 24 hours to watch it in,or streaming.
If that is not a part of it then Netflix works for me just fine and glad to hear Blockbuster customers have some fun with TiVo as well.

Blockbuster, save money on the MBAs. Just capitalize on the above. It's been your successful brick and mortar model for years now and all it needs is for you to catch-up in a quality home internet delivery system.
