I have spent the last 2 days reading threads to fix this problem with no luck. So hopefully some one here can help me out.
I have a Tivo HD and a SD2 both hooked up to the web with a wireless connection.
I cannot get my music, photos, or videos to show up on either Tivo's "Music, Photo's, and Showcases" menu.
I downloaded desktop 2.7. Then tried to publish my iTunes music. Then read a thread about TiviTunes and downloaded that. Then downloaded the Tivo Desktop Universal Plug in.
Its still not showing up. Im at my wits end. Does any one here now what is going on?

I do not want to sound condescending, but did you follow all 4 steps in the instructions below?
Music
http://www.tivo.com/mytivo/howto/listentomusic/howto_stream_music_pc.html
Photos
http://www.tivo.com/mytivo/howto/viewphotosandhomemovies/howto_view_photos_pc.html
Sometimes, people forget to hit the 4th step, "Add" when trying to publish their media.
Also, I think you can only stream/publish .mp3 format. If your files are in iTunes format (.aac?) I do not think it will work.

I tried that. It didnt work. I also manually added my server ip address to my Tivo and that didnt work. I rebooted my Tivo. That didnt work. I uninstalled 2.7 and installed 2.6.2. That didnt work. It brings up a window stating that the beacon is not running when 2.6.2 is installed. Why cant this software be more user friendly? Make sure its compatible before releasing it.

You didn't answer jjberger2134's question: what format are you music files in? By default, TD only supports MP3 files. If you added Dan's universal audio plugin, that adds support for unprotected AAC files. If all of your music has been purchased through iTunes and is DRM'ed, it won't work.

Sorry. Then thats part of the problem. Most of my music on iTunes has been downloaded from my CD's. What about the Tivitunes? I thought that the software would change the format of the iTunes songs to MP3? Its not bringing up the pictures that i published either.
My computer network is not even showing up on the "Music, Photos, and Showcases" menu. Do i have to manually add my computers server to the M., P., and S. menu?
My network signal is "Excellent" on the settings menu and i am able to download shows from my Tivo's to my PC.

You should not have to manually add the computer from the MPS menu, especially if you can transfer programs back and forth.
Not sure, but try manually starting the TiVoBeacon. See if that helps.

You can also try other troubleshooting methods from the Music and Photo Sharing Troubleshooting section of the link below.

Yes, if you just ripped music from CDs it'll be in un-DRM'ed AAC format (unless you changed your default in iTunes to MP3) and that should play through TiVo Desktop with the universal audio plugin just fine.
But if your PC isn't even showing up on your TiVo, like posted above you have other issues.
I would try uninstalling completely, using the TiVo Desktop Cleaner (http://support.tivo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/192). Then try putting a fresh install of 2.7 on there, which uses Bonjour instead of the old beacon setup.
Finally, I'm not familiar with Tivitunes, but it looks like it costs $5 just to be able to play iTunes playlists. I would suggest checking out Galleon which is free and handles iTunes playlists, photos, and a lot more. However, it only handles MP3 files so that might be the best solution for you.
Try getting TiVo Desktop working first ...

Ok, after manually adding the ports needed to use tivo desktop i am still not having any luck.
The Tivo icon at the bottom of my screen some times has an x over it. More often than not it does.
I went into the desktop service screen and clicked on the Tivo Server Properties button but it does nothing. My computer thinks for a second and thats it.
Is there another way to bring up the server properties? Is the Tivo server automatic?

Are you running any anti-virus or firewall software that could be blocking the TiVo Server process?

I am running Windows Live One Care. Its set to "Allow" Tivo server process.

Under C:\Program Files\TiVo\Desktop there is a LogFinder.exe program that links to all of the various log files. Maybe there'll be something in the TiVo Server log that will be helpful? I'm not sure ...
