I searched some threads and tried to apply what saw - but I'm stumped - again. I have photographs on my computer and would like to view them on my Tivo. I have Tivo Desktop Plus - and am wirelessly connected to my pc. I can send recorded tv shows back and forth - but not photographs. I thought I had moved a photo folder and photos to the My Tivo Recordings folder. But when I go to my Tivo and search now playing on my pc - all I see are the videos.

The only way I've been able to view photographs on my Tivo is to host them on photobucket and then download them from photobucket to my Tivo. I'm sure there's a better way without the middle man (of photobucket).

How can I view my pc's photographs on Tivo.

Thanks.
Lynn.

Try following these instructions...
http://www.tivo.com/mytivo/howto/viewphotosandhomemovies/howto_view_photos_pc.html

Basically, you need to 'publish' the photos through TiVo Desktop so that the TiVo knows where to look for them. You should not have to move your photo folders, just tell TiVo Desktop where to look for the photos in the 'publishing' part of the above instructions.

If you have already tried this and did not work please post what you did try to do and hopefully someone will be able to further help.

Make sure you enable the option "HP Photos 2.0" or whatever it's called in the Tivo Desktop options. This will enable photo display at 720p resolution, which looks much better than the 480i resolution of the standard photos app.

JJ - thanks. Somehow I missed those instructions before and hadn't completed the last step in publishing. It looks like it's there now, so I'm going to check itout.

Spocko - I could not find a place to select "options" on the Tivo Desktop program. Where is it?

Thanks.
Lynn.

I could not find a place to select "options" on the Tivo Desktop program.

- Start Tivo Desktop
- Go to "Services" menu
- Select "Tivo Server Properties"
- Enable "Preview Photos 2.0 (With HD Support) for Series 3"

You also have to have a recent Java runtime installed (from Sun) on your PC. If you don't, then go to java.com and get it.

A confirmation window might pop up asking permission to run the HD photo app.

You'll know everything is working when you go to your TiVo and see 2 different photo applications listed under "Music, Photos, and Showcases". One is the old SD photo app, the other is the newer HD photo app.

The HD photo app unfortunately still has borders around all the edges of the photos (i.e. it doesn't fill the entire screen when displaying the photos), but the quality of the photos is much improved from the old SD Photo app.
