Hey guys I have bin at this all night so far I have copied my software with OUT recordings from the 40 gig to the 80 gig booted fine.
Now I am trying to copy the 40 to the 80 gig with recordings then I will run zipper but when I run the command it does not work I have changed it to work with my drive letters i run this

mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hdb | mfsrestore -r 4 -s 127 -xzpi - /dev/hda /dev/hdb

it runs and says

mfstrestor: Integer argument expected for -x
Scanning source drive. Please wait a moment.

then it tells me the bytes on my 40 gig tivo drive then I'm back at #/
so question is what am i doing wrong thanks guys.

You can not have the same drive /dev/hdb as the source and destination.

if you have the 40 on hdb and the 80 on hda, then you should just drop the /dev/hdb from the end of the command. That is used if your destination will be a two drive setup.
