Hr20-100 interesting tidbit

Discovered something interesting on one of my HR20-100 units. I'm moving things around and only had one SAT feed connected to it, and set it that way. But, I found I still have dual tuner and dual recording OTA. As an old TiVo guy this is a pleasant surprise.

I'd verify that it actually works the way you want. With a single sat feed, unless it is connected to a SWM, you can tune in only one sat channel at a time. I have heard from others that if you have one sat feed and an OTA feed connected, the DVR will tell you it is dual-tuner capable.

Yep, it did. 2 OTA recordings ! SAT feed.

The unit still must have had it setup as two sat connections.

What does the system info screen report?

You can set it up with one connection and yet record 2 OTA or 1 SAT and 1 OTA. It even will tell you there's a conflict if you set up 2 SAT timers for the same time, but leave you alone if one or both are OTA. I had my HR20 set up that way for over 2 years until I finally bought a SWM-8 package last month, which works SWiMmingly.
