My "dream" music app would look great on my HDTV like Harmonium does, be able to play my FLAC files like the Tivo music app with the Universal Music Player applet, and sorts the artist into handy A to Z folders for easy access like Galleon.

Instead the Tivo Music app is mostly never appears on the menu unless I restart my Tivo (and who doesn't hate doing that). So my FLAC files can't be played with it. Harmonium is on the Tivo menu and working most of the time but it takes me about 10 minutes to scroll down to play Yo La Tengo (and I've only burned 75% of my 600 cds so far) because the artists appear only in one long list. Galleon is fairly reliable but the menus look crappy and I also can't play FLAC. Is there one application out there that combines the good stuff and doesn't have the drawbacks of these apps? I haven't found it so far.

It's been a while since I played with its music features, but pyTivo will play your FLAC files. Not sure it'll meet your "looks good" requirement like Harmonium, but it works.

Personally I use Galleon's music apps. I don't mind the interface because usually I am kicking off a playlist and then turning off the TV and letting the music play through the receiver.
