My in-laws HDVR2 is outputting green video. The blue menus are all in-tact but all backgrounds and live/recorded tv is green only.
I think it is the video cards problem. It is this way on RF-out and Composite-out (no s-video-in to test). And I have tested the TV inputs with a DVD player, the TV is working.

I have another HDVR2 at my house. If I drop their harddrive and access card in it, will it work or is there and ID on the mainboard that will make it show up as a new box (unauthorized box).

This is all a stop-gap until I can get them to call and upgrade to HR2x... but something has to happen between now and then.

You can swap the drives, but you will get the dreaded error 51. If it's hacked, you can run 51killer.tcl.

If not, you'll have to do a C&DE. They will lose all recorded content, season passes, wishlists, etc.

You will also have to refresh services to get it to work with the different access card.
