View Full Version : Galleon music app stops playing music after 5 minutes

I'm using Galleon (2.5.5) music app to listen to music and very consistently after 5 minutes from hitting play on the first song, the music stops and the TiVo goes directly back to Watching Live TV. I've tried disabling timeouts, getting rid of screensaver and all kinds of other things, but nothing seems to work.
The only relevant thing I see in my logs is:

I have a TiVo HD running software version 11.0 (whatever the latest is).
Any ideas?

Not that this helps, but it seems in my case music playback stops when a recording starts (which is mostly on the (half) hour). Galleon 2.5.5 on a fresh XP MCE load. My old box (Galleon 2.4 on Windows 2003) used to do that occasionally, but this one seems much more frequent :(

check out "Disable Timeout" in the configuration gui.

I just hit this problem today, no idea why it wasn't enabled by default, I can't see why anyone would want their playing music to auto-revert back to live TV... sheesh. :)
UPDATE: I see that you already tried to "disable timeouts". I should read more closely. :) well... post here if you figure it out.

I set "Disable Timeout" but when I return to options, it is unset.
I'm running Galleon 2.5.5 on Windows 7 Ultimate. TiVo DVR is Series 3.
Any ideas? It's sooo close, but 100% unusable without "Disable Timeout" feature working.

In case anyone else sees this, I've resolved this. Problem is that there is a setting in the Jukebox app on TiVo that says "Disable Timeout". You cannot set it from TiVo (at least I could not). It's really more for display. Go to Galleon, then File, Properties, select "Disable Timeout" there and bingo, your music will play uninterrupted.

I wrote about a fix for this here (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=8106691#post8106691) and here (http://www.windracer.net/blog/2010/08/quick-fix-for-saving-galleons-music-player-options/). If you follow my manual instructions there, you'll be able to use the "disable timeout" setting through the TiVo app as well.
