I have a tivo s3. I installed pytivo wmcbrine 2009.03.19 rc1 installed. It will down load the programs ok. On my video it has the program listed but when click transfer the blue light will flash on for less then a sec then off. The program will not transfer.

Need more information.

First of all, wmcbrine doesn't note anything as "rc" - so I am assuming you are in fact using the Windows installer (not from wmcbrine). Is this correct?

If your using windows, Do you have PyTivo installed as a service or as a console app?

If you have it installed as a console app, what does the console show when you try and transfer something?

Console capture or PyTivo logs are needed to assist.

Don't give up on it though... it's a fabulous application, and I'm sure we can help you troubleshoot when you provide some more information.

This is rdian06's installer version using modified wmcbrine scripts.

How did you get these .tivo files to your PC in the first place? Tivo desktop? Do they play on your PC?

They will show up on my videos on the Tivo npl but will not transfer.Last week I used Pytivo to download to pc and use TiVo desktop 2.6 upload to the TiVo. Some TiVo desktop will not connect with the tivo.
I was hoping to use 1 program to download and upload and Videoredo for the ads and joining of the programs.
No they will not play on my pc they have tivo at the end.
What program do you recommend I use.

Just a thought...

But, there are some versions of the windows installer package that have a known issue with .tivo transfers. Have you tried to play some other type of file?

But, there are some versions of the windows installer package that have a known issue with .tivo transfers.Namely, that one... the bug was in my repo for about six days, but has been immortalized in the Windows Installer. :(

There is no pyTivo 2.5 nor 2.6. I assume you mean Python. Not that changing that should fix anything.

Sorry it was Pytivo ver 2008-05-02 and Python 2.5. I was using the lastest version of Pytivo I could not transfer from my pc to the tivo. With the old version I can. I don't know if it was python or pytivo that was causing the trouble.
It is working ok now. Maybe when I get all my program on my pc I'll try the newer version with the 2.5 python.
Right now I believe the hard drive is going out and want o replace it.

The pytivo-wmcbrine -2009-03-19-rc1 Windows installer can't transfer .tivo files back to the Tivo as wmcbrine said. Most other video formats will transfer fine. There is a italicized warning on the download page, but apparently no one reads it. I just made it BOLD too for good measure.

The older 2008-05-02 installer had a bug in the logging config that caused problems with some versions of Python I think...

It's all a work in progress.
