I am having some issues getting galleon working. I installed it and added apps for photos, music, jukebox, playlists, and weather and everything was working just great - I was very happy. Then I added the togo app and that is when my problems started. I started downloading a video from the tivo to my PC - it kept transferring a couple hundred thousand bytes (it's 22G - a 4 hour HD program) and then it would start over with no kind of message. Because of this, I unchecked the box and the download seemed to stop. However, coincident with this, I noticed that when I go into the tivo menu and go to the page that lists the galleon apps, I no longer see icons to the left of the app name, and when I choose any app, I get the "Please Wait" screen and it never goes any further. This happens on both of my tivos. I have rebooted the tivo AND the PC, but the problem persists.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Are you running your network wired or wireless.? And do you know if the hard drive on your pc is NTFS format or FAT. If it is FAT, I believe there is a 2GB limit to downloads to the hard drive. Just a thought. Are there any active firewalls in your network?

The network is primarily wired - although the second tivo is wireless. ALso, the filesystem on my PC is NTFS.

I am less concerned about the transfer failing than I am with the fact thet NOTHING that had previously worked works anymore, and rebooting did not help. I'm about to give up and go back to tivo desktop which worked flawlessly (although with less features)

One more suggestion, make sure you unplug and replug both your router and modem and do the same for the tivos. Sometimes simply power cycling these items can solve your problem. Also stop galleon and restart it under the services menu in the control panel. Hopefully that helps

I uninstalled galleon, restarted the PC, and then reinstalled it. After reinstallation, the configurator could not communicate with the service. Without wasting another second, I uninstalled it, and installed Tivo Desktop 2.7 and it seems to be working just fine. This is my second failed attempt at Galleon - that's it for me. Maybe I'll give pytivo a try.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I was going to suggest clearing Galleon's database, but uninstalling/re-installing would do the same thing. I also would have had you check to see if there was anything unusual in the logs.

I made some changes to the ToGo app in the last revision, but nothing that would have broken the downloading part. And I did test some HD downloads and had no issues. In addition, my auto-transfers are still working perfectly.

All that being said, pyTivo is another great app. I use Galleon primarily for the music, photos, and weather features (and ToGo for auto-transfers via rules), and pyTivo/streambaby for sending video back to my TiVos.

I just wanted to add that the suggestion to restart your Tivo is a good one.

I love Galleon, have been using it for years. With the last upgrade, ToGo could not see the Tivo shows. Very frustrating, I tried everything, deleted the data directory, checked the network, confirmed the IP addresses, nothing seemed to work. Finally after days, I restarted my Tivo.

That did it.

Really appreicate all the programming effort that has gone into. Thanks!
