Is there any way to force my HR10-250 to only use 1 tuner? I only have 1 satellite line going to the unit and I also have an OTA antenna hooked up. I went through the guided setup and told it to set up both Satellite and OTA. Then I told it I only had one cable hooked up to input 1.

When it's done with the setup, it still thinks I have two tuners. I can tune in two OTA channels (or 1 OTA and 1 dish) and record both. That's great, but the problem is that on one tuner I only get OTA channels (which makes sense). The problem that I have is that the TiVo thinks that it has a full slate of channels on both tuners so it will sometimes try to record a satellite channel on the tuner that is only getting OTA.

Can I force it to only use one tuner (for both OTA and satellite)?

Thanks

I played around a little more and I found that the TiVo won't let me schedule two recordings at the same time, but while I am recording one show it will let me flip to another channel. So, if I am taping a satellite channel and I try to flip to another satellite channel, it switches to the second tuner and goes to a black screen. If I try to tune to an OTA channel, the second tuner is fine.

So, the question remains - is there any way I can lock it into only using one tuner for both OTA and satellite?

Thanks

In order to record two channels at the same time you have to have two sat cables connected to the HR10. Since it still thinks it has two cables connected it will give you this situation. This is how many get it to work to record two OTA channels, but fails with the second sat line.

With the HR10 set for only one input, the unit can't record a sat and OTA channel at the same time.
