Hi and thanks. Just upgraded to TiVo Desktop 2.7 and now whenever I open a transferred program to play on my PC, I get a scrolling message at the bottom of Windows Media Player stating:

"Evaluation Period Has Expired. Please buy The Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder. Please visit www.elecard.com"

When I search for the codec it is in the TiVo Desktop Plus folder.

TiVo support was no help at all. Just said to remove Desktop and go back to 2.6.2. Gee thanks...

HELP?

TDCM (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=395047) is either the answer to your problem or you will want it in the future anyway. I suspect just selecting a different video codec in TDCM will be your fix. See the linked thread for more details.

Several other companies use the MainConcept (Elecard) codecs too. AFAIK the one that comes with Desktop doesn't have an eval period - it usually won't show up at all unless you purchase the Plus upgrade. If you use TDCM and right-click the video codec you can see the actual path in the Properties dialog.

If you have any problems with it just let me know.
