I've had my wonderful Pioneer 810H since Christmas 2003 with never a problem. Now, all of a sudden, I'm getting a message at the bottom of the screen that says: "Program info will run out on Sat 6/13! Connect to Tivo service." I've done that three times, it says it was successful, but I still get the error message. Any thoughts? I love this machine and would hate to have it die -- it's also on Lifetime service.

Help greatly appreciated.

First reboot, and make sure the problem persists. If it does, rerun guided setup, sometimes listing changes can cause this. If there is still a problem, you may have a failing hard drive. Pretty easy to replace it.

Hi: I have rebooted and re-run Guided setup several times, now says it will run out in two days. You say it's pretty easy to replace failing hard drive. How easy?? I'm pretty good with computers, but haven't changed a hard drive.

Thanks,

There are enough threads on the subject in the upgrade forum that it would be silly to repeat here, but the basic process involves getting a nice large IDE drive, download Winmfs, pull the drive from the tivo and copy it to the new drive with winmfs, put the new drive in the tivo. If the original drive is too damaged to copy, you'll need a drive image for the 810.

Well, wonder of wonders, one more Guided Setup and it's working perfectly.

Hooray! Thanks for your help.
