I think I'm a little confused about the keyword function when I create a wishlist. Exactly what is the Tivo searching through when it looks for the keyword I've specified?

I'm trying to make a wishlist to record back episodes of House. As we all know, House is on about a thousand times a week on three or four different channels, and since I can't re-order recorded episodes on my Tivo, I only want to record the ones from season one.

I've tried every combination of entering a year value, ie. (2004) and nothing works.

So I looked around the forum and found a thread from a while back that says that you can't use the year as a search parameter when it is part of the show description, but it doesn't explain why. Isn't a keyword search looking at the same description I see in my program guide? If not, what is it looking at?

The keyword search is looking at the show title, episode title, and description. But not the actors, directors, star rating, or original air date.

And unfortunatly, for programs, the year that you see in parenthese in the description is getting pulled for the original air date field. So the TiVo is ignoring it. (Which I agree is annoying and dumb).

If you've got a TiVo HD you could use the beta search to pull up the episode guide for House season 1, and use the "create wishlist" option to have the TiVo make 1 wishlist per episode for you. (Annoying, but not as annoying as manually typing out each episode name)

Edit: Oh, and keyword searches also search the "movie year" field, if present. So you can search for movies by year, just not TV shows. :(
