My TV died yesterday and I hooked up another spare I had to my setup.

My original setup was through coaxil cable. My new TV has S-video and composites on it. Went out and bought new cables and wired them in and I have a black screen:(. I can veiw my previously recorded shows fine but can't see live TV.

my set up is this using s-video cable:

s-video from cable box > Tivo Series 1 >TV

I have gone through setup and mrked my input from s-video and tivo says video ok but no picture.

Do you have to configure your cable box to use the s-video output?

A quick test would be to connect the s-video cable directly to the TV and see if that works.

Just before i left for work i got picture and sound. But I could not change the channels through Tivo. I programmed my remote to work the cable box and I can change channels through it but to record a show I then have to switch the remote over to Tivo and change the station there so they are synched up.

any suggestions?

my set up is this using s-video cable:

s-video from cable box > Tivo Series 1 >TV

Cable Provider: Cablevision

now my system works when it wants other wiser i just have a black screen. I think it is my cable box that is causing the problem.

I can not change the channels through Tivo. I programmed my remote to work the cable box and I can change channels through it but to record a show I then have to switch the remote over to Tivo and change the station there so they are synched up.

I have the IR Blaster attached to Tivo and it did work on my old TV up till Sunday when that one died. I dont know what the problem is. The set up is exactly the same as my old TV setup all i did was replace the TV.

When I check my setup in Tivo it shows s-video (video OK). When i go to live TV I get no picture.

Need help drasticlly. I have been mainlining Tivo for 8 years and don't think I can handle the withdrawl pains.

Thanks in advance.
