I have an upgraded TiVo and the upgraded drive got into a reboot loop, so bad that a kick start wouldn't fix it, so I pulled it out and placed the stock drive in while I can diagnose the other drive.

Now my TiVo is freezing up on playback (no recording, besides the always recording live buffer) and will sit there for a few minutes then respond to what ever remote presses I just did and then turn off and reboot. It has also done this a few times during some recordings.

Any suggestions on what to possibly fix? Is this a dying drive? Odd since my other TiVo is a lot older with the stock drive doing fine, but this one which I upgraded shortly after purchase and put the stock drive into the static bag and storage seems to be having issues.

:eek:The answer is probably yes, mine started to random reboot, slow menus. I just ordered a wd10evds drive and going to use instacake to image drive. If i was you just use a dia. tool from the drive manuf. to see if it is. Most likely it is, i ran the kickstart 54 and told me i had a bad i/o. Should get my drive next wk so i'm crossing my fingers.
